The 2015 Crescent Beach Concours D Elegance was blessed with terrific weather and great cars.
This year two very special cars were on hand to thrill the crowds. The very first Shelby GT 350 road car was on hand as was the1959 Watson Indy Roadster owned by Larry Pfitzenmaier from Arizona. Known as the Simoniz Special #16 the roadster was the fifth of 23 Indy Roadsters built by A.J. Watson from 1956 through 1963, and one of only two built for the 1959 racing season.
Shelby American was given 3 Fastback Mustangs and 2 were modified as race cars and the third to be a prototype street version of the Shelby GT 350. The car was originally driven with two steel wheels on the right side and prototype Cragar SS mag wheels on the passanger side for photographic purposes allowing for both versions of the car to be used in magazine and promotions.
