Morley McDonald

Director, British Columbia

My affection for the vintage and collector car hobby began when I was 16 years old.  My father, a career military officer, was posted from Edmonton Alberta to Washington DC.  What a life changing event that was for me.  I was attending an American high school with a parking lot full of hot rods and beautiful 40’s and 50’s cars.  Drags and racing every weekend was the norm.  Seven years later I’m in Winnipeg Manitoba beginning a Police career.  When my two sons were old enough to drive, we bought some older pickups and began restoring them.  When I retired and settled in Penticton British Columbia, I got involved with the Vintage Car Club of Canada and the National Association of Automobile Clubs of Canada. This led to being involved in car shows and judging in various events. I have had the honor of judging at the Cobble Beach Concours d’ Elegance, located in Owen Sound Ontario, on seven occasions.  What an amazing experience.  September can’t come soon enough. On the personal side of life, my wife Joan and I have been married 58 years. We have two sons and three amazing grandchildren and continue to live in Penticton.  I am a British Columbia Director of the NAACC and a Governor for the Vintage Car Club of Canada.

John Carlson, the president of the NAACC, writes, “the NAACC is proud and honored to have Morley MacDonald as a Director for the National Association of Automobile Clubs of Canada Corporation. Morley brings a professional, no nonsense caring approach to the national board. British Columbia is fortunate to have him help represent the province.”
